WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?
Yoga nidra is an ancient form of meditation and relaxation, often translated as ‘yogic sleep’. It is normally practiced in savasana (lying down) making it accessible to all and requires no prior knowledge as you will be guided through the meditation. Yoga nidra is a state of awareness that allows the body to relax completely and the mind is between wakefulness and deep rest, reaching a state where healing can occur. For that reason yoga nidra is rapidly becoming known as a practice to help with problems like insomnia, stress, depression and many more.
WHAT WILL WE COVER IN THIS WORKSHOP?
This 3.5 hour workshop will cover:
- 2 practices of yoga nidra
- an introduction to origins of yoga nidra, different modern approaches, how it works and therapeutic applications
- resources for home practice and further exploration
